final shuttle mission. why nasa is nervous. >> going. divers will join the search for seven missing fishermen. air and say searches this week have covered thousands of square miles but no sign the men. their families believe they could be alive and the coast guard agrees >> reporter: coast guard teams searched at 797 square miles for the missing fishermen. the coast guard said it's possible they are still alive even after a week . >> the coast guard and the navy are pursuing this case as a rescue effort. we are still hopeful to find the seven missing men. >> reporter: 27 passengers were thrown into the sea after a freak thunderstorm capsized

their boat. 19 made it to land after swimming for hours. >> i was in the water for 16 hours. >> reporter: many survivors clung to ice chests as they tried to reach land. >> i just saw huge waves and i think i was there nine to ten hours. . >> reporter: the coast guard has searched 4600 square miles of ocean and land. it's possible survivors could drift for miles, rescue teams believe some could be on a remote island. >> many of the islands are uninhabited, they are basically giant rocks in the ocean. >> reporter: a dive team is boeing brought in. it's reported they could search the sunken boat as early as tomorrow to see if the bodies of the missing men are inside. mexican investigators found the boat in about 223 feet of water. the coast guard said they are scheduled to help the navy search through tuesday but they will stay longer if asked.

road and may berry. the engine was leaving the scene of a house fire. nobody was injured but the car and fire truck were damaged. part of gold country is under the eye of emergency people tonight. 200 firefighters are battling a 340-acre wildfire in a remote area of the foothills. arcing from power lines is the likely cause of the fire burning near smartsville. no homes or buildings are threat especiallied. no arrests in a shoot in oakland. police found the victim on seminary avenue. the injury was not life threatening. no motive or suspects have been identified. part of the terminal project on hold after a serious accident at the site. a worker had severe burns yesterday when he came in contact with a live wire moving

underground utilities. that part of the construction will be halted during the investigation but the rest of the project will not be impacted or delayed. and another big step forward toward the completion of the new bay bridge. the company making the steel girders and tower said its finishing up its part of the work. california outsourced production to save $400 million. the new span opens in 2013. he is a four time super bowl champion but can joe moment score a deal with the city of santa clara over the new stadium? >> reporter: it's an empty lot with big plans, the proposed stadium is supposed to break ground next year costing hundreds of millions of dollars and while the funding isn't completely secured, plans are being made for the land across the street, plans almost as big as the man behind them, joe

held on tuesday in palm desert. ford died friday at age 93. the president and leaders will meet tomorrow to try to reach a deal on raising the debt limit. the talks today that left republicans and democrats still farah part with the clock ticking. >> reporter: the president and congressional leaders sat down at white house in a rare sunday night meeting. for about an hour and a half they worked to strike a deal on how to reduce the nation's deficit. the president pressed his plan that would cut around four trillon in spending but republicans don't like it because it has tax increases. >> with 9.2% unemployment it's a terrible idea. >> reporter: the speaker of the house suggested cutting it if half but the white house insists whatever the size the deal will have to end tax

state highway patrol will step up enforcing the move over law. it requires drivers to slow down and move out of the lane next to caltrans or emergency workers. add wills run on tv and on highway billboards, violaters can face fines topping $200. and drivers not getting as much of a break at the gas pump. after months of decline the prices went up to $3.87 in san francisco. in oakland. it's now $3.77 and in san jose it's $3.78. it may reach four dollars in the next few weeks. at milestone for the shuttle. tonight it's docked and delivering supplies for the final time at the space station. nasa is monitoring a piece of space junk that should pass it on tuesday but mission control said the crew can move in

make a big come back if berkeley. the city is expected to relax rules this tuesday that will allow restaurants to add seating on sidewalks. the cost of a permit could be as little as 350 and be issued in weeks. san francisco stream lined its process for outdoor dining and nearly any unused public space. another policy shift may happen in santa cruz, the city banned dogs in 1976 downtown after complaints about waste and aggressive animals. now local merchants have had a change of heart saying business has suffered. today the council is expected to lift the ban for a three month trial period. >> my dogs aren't welcome i don't go. we take them to restaurant; church, everywhere. >> i know some who don't come but i know who come and walk their dogs any wait a minute. >> dogs park, and threaten

. you do not have to travel to spain to run with the bulls. new orleans -- my gosh, new orleans held it's own spanish event. thousands crowded the french quarters to take part in this chase. clearly no bulls here. instead members of the big easy roller girls and other roller derby teams played the part of the animals. they had plastic bats and whacked the runners as they ran through city streets. this is the 5th year for the event and a sign new orleans still knows how to have a good, crazy time. >>
